Bacon Wrapped Dates
I LOVE bacon, red wine reduction, and blue cheese so you add some dates to that mix… bacon wrapped dates are a hit for me!
I learned to love this dish from of my favorite hangout restaurants in town, Firefly in Las Vegas. Because I am lazy, I don’t want to drive to satisfy my cravings so I make them at home.
These little guys are crazy good and a hit at every party they are served. And don’t be intimated… they are R-E-A-L-L-Y easy to make too!

I cut my bacon into thirds and have everything ready so I don’t contaminate other stuff {like digging a toothpick out of the box with my bacon hands}.
Once they are all wrapped I toss them into a square stone. {Who am I kidding my OCD personality won’t have anything less than perfect lines of bacon wrapped dates!}
If you don’t have a stone, then line a cookie sheet with foil to make the clean up easier. Whatever you use… make sure it has a lip so the bacon grease doesn’t drip to the bottom of your oven.
Cooking and serving tips:
- If taking to a party, do not plate before you go as they will be a soggy mess
- DO NOT overcook the bacon
- Allow guests to serve their own blue cheese {or you can use feta} because the longer they sit, the more the cheese absorbs the red wine reduction
- You need 1 slice of bacon for every 3 dates so you can plan accordingly
