Barbecue Chicken Pizza Braid Made Easy with Foster Farms

When I was offered the chance to work with Foster Farms Refrigerated Grilled Chicken Breast I knew it was a project I wanted to work with.

My kids only eat chicken. And a lot of it. Especially now that Spencer is on a “high protein” diet for the summer. Seriously… I cannot keep up with his food intake during Normally while he is out exercising I will make lunch for all of us. For someone who works from home and doesn’t want to spend a lot of time prepping meals and ready to eat grilled chicken becomes a staple when looking for a versatile ingredient that is a quick meal maker. By using the Foster Farms Refrigerated Grilled Chicken Breast Strips, I shave at least 20+ minutes from meal prep.

Lunch ideas my kids enjoy using grilled chicken breast strips:

  • Whip up a fast grilled chicken Caesar Salad in just a few minutes
  • Grilled chicken quesadilla is one of my go to meals
  • Spencer sprinkles mozzarella cheese over the grilled chicken strips and adds a sauce to make a quick and easy chicken Parmesan sandwich
  •  Alex will add to her pre-made noodle soup mixes

The ideas are endless!

One meal that I have been making for Spencer for over ten years (or more) is a barbecue chicken pizza braid. While it looks like it might take a while to prep, it is actually VERY easy to make. In fact, it is so easy the kids use to help me get it ready to go in the oven.

Note: Pizza dough sizes vary therefore your ingredient amounts needed may be different for each size. These are the amounts needed for the premade pizza dough I use.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of premade pizza dough
  • ½ cup Barbeque sauce of your choice
  • 1 cup Foster Farms Refrigerated Grilled Chicken Breast Strips, rough chopped
  • ½ cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven in accordance to the premade pizza dough package instruction.
  2. Remove pizza dough from packaging and spread on your baking surface, e.g., pizza stone
  3. Cut the sides as shown above using the “third” method. One third on the left cut, the middle left intact, and the last third on the right cut.
  4. Spread barbeque sauce down the middle of the solid section of pizza dough.
  5. Add the Foster Farms Refrigerated Grilled Chicken Breast Strips down the middle over the barbeque sauce.
  6. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the chick breast strips.
  7. Overlap the strips from left to right as seen in the image above.
  8. Bake until dough is nice and brown

If you want to add Foster Farms Refrigerated Grilled Chicken Breast Strips to your meals, you can find them at Walmart in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and last but certainly not least… Nevada.
