Burrata Cheese

Burrata Cheese

Have you guessed that I love food yet? It’s easy to figure out since almost every food article starts with “I LOVE…”

It’s amazing I am not excessively overweight since I have a love for food. And, a lot of that food includes cheese.

I will be trying my hand at making homemade cheeses so when I have my recipe perfected I will come back here and drop a link for the article and recipes using burrata.

Burrata Cheese

Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese, made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella while the inside contains both mozzarella and cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture. It is also defined by some sources as an outer shell of mozzarella filled with butter or a mixture of butter and sugar. It is usually served fresh, at room temperature. The name “burrata” means “buttered” in Italian.

Burrata Cheese

Burrata is amazing by itself or with a little Balsamic drizzle over the top. Recently I have been adventurous and have started making my own cheeses at home. It’s not that hard and you can too! Click here to view cheese making items on Amazon.

Las Vegas restaurants I know of which serve burrata on their menu:

  • Circo
  • Honey Salt
  • North End Pizzeria | {North End Pizzeria website} {on Tuesdays as part of bruschetta}

Which restaurants do you know of that serves burrata? Drop me a comment below so I can go give it a taste.
