Candied Pecan Recipe

Candied Pecan Recipe

I am from the south ya’ll and one thing I do love is pecans {say it how you want}. I have many memories of picking up pecans from my grandparents’ pecan tree and cracking them open to have fresh pecans. YUM!

As an adult, I have learned to love them even more making candied pecans. I must admit… I make them for my salads but I end up eating a third of them before they ever fully cool.

When I thought about sharing the recipe I had a “deer with lights in the eyes” moment because I don’t measure, I just cook. So, below is my best candied pecans recipes that I can get with actually using measurements.

NOTE: I like mine with a little more vinegar taste than most so I backed off the amount of balsamic vinegar in the recipe. Like with all recipes, modify it to make it your own to suit your taste.

One of my favorite ways to eat them is with spinach, dried cranberries and honey mustard vinaigrette {I know, odd tastes together but it works for my taste buds!}.

Candied pecans are so easy to make and will really dress up a salad or you can just eat them by themselves. nom nom nom

When I do make them for a salad I take my whole pecans and give them a chop or two to make them into smaller pieces.

There are many ways to make them but my personal favorite by far is butter and balsamic vinegar with the brown sugar. I love balsamic and think anything will taste better with it!

WARNING: DO NOT try to eat them straight out of the pot — that is one wake up call your taste buds will hate you for!

If you love candied pecans, what are some of your favorite ways to use them?
