Caramel Popcorn Balls
All my life I have been teased about how I eat popcorn at the movie theater.
Why?
Because I dump a box of Milk Duds in it.
Throughout my life, I thought I was the only one who at it that way. Little did I know, I am one of many who enjoys the sweet and salty taste during a good movie.
In the spirit of my favorite movie snack, I created the Milk Duds and Caramel Popcorn Balls. Happy eating!
Now, I must admit… I absolutely screwed this recipe up and was able to recover it. How? I laid the popcorn flat on wax paper to work the HOT caramel. MISTAKE! I thought my plastic gloves would protect my hands enough to work the caramel into the popcorn. NOT! After scrapping the hot caramel off my gloves to make it stop burning, I quickly moved everything into a large plastic bowl and used a silicone spatula to mix the hot caramel around to coat the popcorn.
After the crisis was diverted, these tasty caramel popcorn balls with Milk Duds were amazing!
Once I got the caramel in the bowl and the popcorn coated, the popcorn balls were easy peasy with the popcorn baller.
