Cat Fight Broke Out Over My Easy Ricotta Cheese Recipe!
I pulled my ricotta cheese out of the fridge to photograph and I had three cats in the kitchen in a matter of seconds! For those who are not familiar with my furry babies, here is the run down:
- Buster: My daughter’s 9 year old Chocolate Point Himilayan who loves to watch me {and I always feel him judging}. The joke in our home is that he is the original grumpy cat. He does NOT like to be touched and when you do he will run away and give himself a bath that should wear out his tongue. When I am cooking or photographing he will always find a stool, chair, or sit near me to watch. His super hero quality: To create a hairball within a matter of minutes for us to step on in the middle of the night. {Seriously, always on the route from bed to bathroom.}
- Diamond: My son’s 14 year old {maybe? we don’t really know} Lilac Birman {or so we have been told}. She came to us as a stray who was living wild and knocked up with a cute litter of kittens. She is my son’s mini me and does nothing without him. If you didn’t know she existed you would never see her as she lives in his bedroom and office / gaming room. She is the alpha cat and the alpha animal in our home. Her super hero quality: The ability to predict and smell any dairy product being removed from the refrigerator.
- Sofie: My 2 year old cat who came to us as a 6 week old kitten who was hiding in our garage. Bob said NO MORE ANIMALS but once he saw her he caved. She spends her days as a touch me not who hides very well. At night she is a cuddle bunny but it’s always on her terms. Her super hero quality: Parkour… seriously, she can bounce from one wall to another and never touch the floor.
Buster immediately jumps on my stool, which I used to get high over my food for overhead shots. He knows how to position himself!
The girls came into kitchen around the same time and immediately Sofie tries to play with Diamond. Poor kid still hasn’t learned that Diamond is the alpha cat and to leave her alone.
Buster, the wise one, watches from atop his perch. He doesn’t like to play and he sure doesn’t like to cat fight!
The girls circle trying to figure out how to get closer to my ricotta cheese. Buster holds tight to his position near the white gold.
I am sure someone will say something for me giving cats straight dairy but they didn’t get much and they loved it.
If the family doesn’t enjoy my homemade ricotta cheese, at least I know the cats did!
