Shark Week

Shark Week

I am not sure when my son discovered Shark Week but as soon as he did our DVR was full of nothing else. The fascination with sharks has never ended as we have taken several trips to find fossilized shark teeth and watch dumb {and I mean REALLY dumb} shark movies… seriously, a shark vs a T-Rex. Actually, he loves anything related to marine life and one of his birthday trips we took him to the Monterrey Aquarium so he could enjoy a weekend of marine life education.

Shark Week from Wikipedia

The Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, first broadcast on July 17, 1987, is a week-long series of feature television programs dedicated to sharks. Held annually, normally in July or August, Shark Week was originally developed to raise awareness and respect for sharks. It is the longest-running cable television programming event in history. Now broadcast in over 72 countries, Shark Week is promoted heavily via social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

So, how can you make Shark Week more fun other than buying a case of Landshark beer and call it a party?

  • Visit the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef to do an underwater proposal, swim with the sharks and more!
