How to Make Chicken Tenders
While Bob can cook some of the most complexes dishes out there {and my kids love to eat them}, sometimes they ask for his fallback recipe of chicken tenders. It’s a win – win because this chicken tenders recipe is so easy to make and the kids will finish off every last tender strip.
Depending on the mood, the kids will eat with either homemade sweet and sour sauce OR… homemade honey mustard sauce. Tonight, Bob threw them a curve by serving it with his homemade tomato sauce.

Note, we use chicken tenderloins but you can use boneless skinless chicken breasts by removing the tenderloin to use {or use a combo of tenderloins and the chicken breast cut into strips}. If you use a straight tenderloin, you might need to trim the fat and other unwanted parts {as seen above}.
What some of you might enjoy are a few shipping tips on how to make it cheap and here is how I bought my ingredients:
Used a $1 off any Kikkoman coupons at WinCo to buy my panko for $1.24 a box, $.24 out of pocket (check the coupon database for Kikkoman coupons)
Olive oil I stockpile when on sale at CVS for $3.99 (and I have a $1 coupon) – for those who know how to shop at CVS and use ECB’s then you know how I got my olive oil for FREE
Price matched the fresh chicken tenderloin at Walmart where I have bought it as low as $1.39 a pound recently {yes, and I froze a lot too at this price!}
There are so many ways to spice this one up (or down) before you bake it. Most of the time Bob will prepare it plain and the kids while other times he will add shredded Parmesan, red pepper flakes, and different seasonings to mix it up.
Want something more than a strip and dip? Add it to a flavored flatbread or tortilla with veggies and sauces. YUM…
However you want to dish it up, it’s a fast and cheap recipe to make!
