Mazda 6 | Zoom Zoom

December 7, 2012 by Billie Hillier Leave a Comment

Is the Mazda branding so good that when you see one of their cars on the road you think to yourself “zoom zoom?” After driving the Mazda 6 I find myself often doing it. LOL

1 - mazda

This little zippy number will have you enjoying your drive whether in the city or on the highway and the gas mileage will have you enjoying it a little more! Under the hood you will find a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Skyactiv-G engine with 6 speed shift which will take you to 0-60 in 7.0 seconds! No frets about gas mileage with the 26 MPG in the city and 38 MPG on the highway. Zoom Zoom!

The front of the car is very roomy but we found the back a bit small for our son, who is tall. Alex was fine in the back seat but she’s about a foot shorter than the man cub. The Mazda 6 comes with a leather option, which is much needed for Las Vegas summers. Also inside you will find that the air conditioning with pollen filter {MUCH needed for Las Vegas}, MP3 player compatibility, USB, iPod, and Bluetooth connection.

Since we travel a lot I always check the trunk to ensure that we have enough room for all our bags {including Princess Alex’s ensemble too!}. Trunk space is very important to us as when we are not on the road we are always shuffling large hauls from the store and more. As Alex’s jokes when we look at trunks “Yep, large enough to fit a body – it will work.” No, no bodies here… just enough space for one!

Since we are looking for a car that would work for the size of our family, the Mazda 6 doesn’t fit our needs. But, this is perfect for the family with small kids or a kid who wants a car that is reasonably priced {starting in the low $20’s}, great gas mileage, and fun to drive. {Wait… kids don’t need a car that is fun to drive!}

Since safety is always a factor when we are looking for a car for the kids, this one fits the bill with advanced front airbags, side impact door beams, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and a tire monitoring monitoring system.

While the Mazda 6 doesn’t fit this family’s needs, if you are looking for a fun sporty car to drive you might want to check it out because it was a lot of fun to drive.
