Spiderman Cookie Recipe

May 10, 2014 by Billie Hillier Leave a Comment

Spiderman Cookie

Spiderman Day is on August 1 and I surfed the web to find some fun ideas to share with you.

One of my favorites is this fun find for Spiderman Cookies by SnackPicks.

I modified the recipe to fit my tastes and you can do the same if needed. I chose a cookie that my family would eat {meaning me} and instead of using a pre-made icing I asked my daughter to whip up a cream cheese icing recipe. The larger the chocolate cookie the easier it will be for you to work with to decorate with the cream cheese, find strawberries that fit nicely and almonds that are a good size ratio to the strawberries. I stuck to the smaller cookies and smaller strawberries which was fun trying to find smaller almonds. Oh well… it worked at least {plus, less calories that way… am I right!}.

One kitchen tool I love is my egg slicer because I use it for everything other than slicing eggs! I use it to slice mushrooms, bananas, strawberries and more when I want equal cuts for the fruit to decorate with. NOTE: Be sure to use the wire one so it will work with the items I listed.

These Spiderman Cookies are fun for Spiderman Day or for your next super hero birthday party.

Preparation tips:

  • I used the outside of the strawberry since most of mine were “hollow” inside and not usable
  • Be sure to dry the strawberries to reduce the liquid on the cookie

Spiderman Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

  • Chocolate cookies (I used OREOS)
  • Cream cheese icing
  • Strawberries, sliced
  • Almonds, sliced

Instructions

  1. Add the cream cheese icing to a decorating bag.
  2. Separate the cookies and use the side with no icing {scrap any residual off with a knife}
  3. Lay cookies on a flat surface and use the cream cheese to create a web on each cookie.
  4. Wash the strawberries, dab dry with paper towel and then slice.
  5. Place a strawberry slice in the middle of each cookie.
  6. Add 2 two almond slices on the strawberry for the eyes.
