The Farm Las Vegas | Local Honey, Fresh Eggs…

Living in the northwest area of Las Vegas often gets an eyebrow raised as most people prefer to live in Henderson or the Summerlin area. Not me! I want to be near the mountains, above The Strip for awesome views, and large lots for homes. Yes, it’s a bit more “rural” than other parts of town but that is A-OK with this family as we enjoy the amenities that come along with living here.

One of the weekend enjoyments is to go to The Farm and Gilcrease Orchard to grab some fresh goodies to cook with. This past weekend weekend we make a stop to grab some fresh eggs and were surprised with a selection of rainbow carrots – yes please! I can’t wait to see what Bob whips up with them and they should photograph well. {Be sure to stop back by and see what he developed with our farm fresh goodies.}

Lots of locals will visit with their little ones just to enjoy seeing the animals and the sensory overload the locale offers. I just take my big kid Bob who has just as much fun picking through the fresh produce. When my daughter would go with us she would always peek over the fence to see the pig. {She wants a pet pig.}

For those who are looking for local honey they offer it for sale. I have heard that it helps with allergies but nada for this gal who lives in constant environmental migraine pain due to “allergies.”

While their produce isn’t as extensive as Gilcrease Farms, we often find that they will have different items available each weekend so making the trip to both places is most of the time worth it.

Have you been yet? What is your favorite reason to visit?
